The program "PUNCTUATION" is intended for teaching high school pupils, school-leavers, and students of non-humanitarian departments of universities, technical schools and colleges on the theme "The rules of using the comma in Russian".

The program includes a control test and five lessons. Each lesson consists of a theoretical part, comments and exercises.

Lessons subjects:
1. Isolating of solitary articles of a sentence.
2. Dividing of homogeneous articles of a sentence.
3. Homogeneous and heterogeneous attributes.
4. Isolating of parenthetic words and addresses.
5. Dividing of parts of complex sentences.

Training texts of the program are based on the J.R.R. Tolkien's work "Hobbit, or here and there".

The leading principle of teaching is revealing the deep syntactic sense of the rules of punctuation. The rules of commas usage are presented not in the form of finished formulae, but are logically disclosed during study.

One has to start the program with the file START.BAT.
Put the cursor at this file and press the key Enter.

A part of the complete set of the program is a keyboard driver KEYRUS.COM, version of MS DOS.

A brief user's manual is in the file PT_INFO.TXT.
